Today we are Pat Testing holiday lets in Plymouth and Modbury for landlords who take a responsible approach. Unlike gas, there is no legal requirement for you to PAT Test your Holiday Let. However, landlords are required, by law, to ensure that all electrical appliances within the property are safe for use. Everything from the kettle and TV through to hair dryers and lamps should be regularly inspected and tested.
Plymouth Sparky will carry out your Pat Portable appliance testing for you with respect for your property, fully insured and qualified to do the job right. On completion of testing you will receive a full Itemised test log sheet one Certificate of testing. Stickers on items is a good reminder of date done and due, but some opt to not have the stickers.

Do I need to keep records of testing and should I label any appliances tested?

There is no legal requirement to label equipment that has been inspected or tested, nor is there a requirement to keep records of these activities. However, a record and / or labelling can be a useful management tool for monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of the maintenance scheme – and to demonstrate that a scheme exists.
